Music Performance Tour of Southern England
DAY 1 (U.S.A./Aloft)
Depart the United States aboard your overnight transAtlantic flight
to Europe. The night will pass quickly, and you will soon be landing
in London.
DAY 2 (Arrive LONDON - BATH - BRISTOL)
Welcome to London. After passing through necessary customs formalities,
you will be met by your Tour Director and your coach and driver
for the drive to Bristol. On the way you will make a brief stop
in Bath for an optional lunch break. Bath is a beautiful wellplanned
city with a wealth of Georgian houses, squares and terraces. Despite
recent construction, Bath maintains a Regency atmosphere. Discovered
by the Romans many centuries ago, Bath is noted for its hot springs.
Following your stop in Bath, you will continue to Bristol for dinner
and overnight at your hotel.
DAY 3 (BRISTOL - STRATFORD - BIRMINGHAM)
Breakfast at your hotel. This morning you will be given an orientation
tour of Bristol before continuing to Stratford-Upon-Avon. You will
travel through the gentle Cotswold Hills to StratforduponAvon. Old
Will couldn't have picked a more perfect town if he'd built it as
a stage set himself! You'll visit Shakespeare's birthplace and the
pictureperfect thatched cottage of Anne Hathaway, his bride. Dinner
and overnight in Birmingham.
DAY 4 (BIRMINGHAM - STRATFORD - BIRMINGHAM)
Breakfast at your hotel. Following breakfast you will board your
motorcoach for the short drive to Stratford for a sightseeing tour.
Sightseeing here will include a visit to the Holy Trinity Church
(which contains Shakespeare's grave and monument), the Grammar School
where the Bard was educated, the Memorial Museum and lastly Shakespeare's
birthplace. After some free time for lunch you will give a concert
performance in the Stratford Guild House. Return to Birmingham late
this afternoon for dinner and overnight.
DAY 5 (BIRMINGHAM - LONDON)
Breakfast at your hotel. Board your motorcoach for the drive south
to London. Passing through the English countryside you will arrive
London in mid-afternoon. Dinner and overnight at your London hotel.
DAY 6 (LONDON)
Breakfast at your hotel. The city of Elizabeth and Charles Dickens,
Lord Nelson and Peter Pan, fills your halfday guided sightseeing
tour with sights unlimited. Your route includes Buckingham Palace
with the traditional Changing of the Guard (if held), Marble Arch
and Hyde Park, the Mall, Piccadilly Circus, Trafalgar Square, St.
James Palace, Parliament, Big Ben, and the major shopping streets.
Following some free time for lunch, you will be transferred to the
barbican Centre where you will give a concert performance. Return
to your hotel for diner and overnight.
DAY 7 (LONDON - CHICAGO)
Breakfast at your hotel. Transfer to the airport for your return
flight to Chicago.
