Berlin’s Spring Jamboree Tour
Plus the highlights of Dresden, Prague and Munich
March 11 – March 20, 2009

ITINERARY (Included meals: B=breakfast, D=dinner)

Day 1 – Wednesday, March 11, 2009 USA - Berlin 
Board your international flight to Germany.

Day 2 – Thursday, March 12, 2009 Berlin
After arrival in Berlin you will be met by your tour director. He will
guide you to your waiting deluxe motor coach for your transfer to your hotel. Time to relax or to start exploring this exciting city on your own. Tonight you will meet the other tour participants at the welcome dinner.(D)

Day 3 – Friday, March 13, 2009 Berlin
Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gedächtnis-KircheThis morning you will meet your local guide for a city sightseeing tour of Berlin.

Among Berlin's many historical treasures are majestic Charlottenburg Palace, the Victory Column and the Reichstag, home of Germany’s parliament. The Schoeneberger Rathaus, site of John F. Kennedy’s moving "Ich bin ein Berliner" speech. One of the highlights is your drive along the boulevard "Unter den Linden." Starting at the Brandenburg Gate pass famous buildings such as the State Opera House, the Humboldt University and the Cathedral ending at Alexanderplatz.

Your tour ends at your hotel in time for lunch (on your own). Afternoon transfer to the opening of the Spring Jamboree 2009!  The Jamboree takes place near the famous Olympic Stadium, where Jesse Owens raced to glory in 1936. Transfer back to your hotel after the festivities.

Day 4 – Saturday, March 14, 2009 Berlin
Mid-morning transfer to the Jamboree for your second day of exciting events. (B)

Day 5 – Sunday, March 15, 2009 Berlin
Morning transfer to the Jamboree. Return transfer to your hotel after the Farewell Dance.
The balance of the day is free for individual activities. (B)

Day 6 – Monday, March 16, 2009 Dresden - Prague
Check out of your hotel and depart to Dresden. A local guide will meet you after arrival to take you on a walking tour through the historic old part of the town. Many of the historic buildings are back to their original conditions after great damage during WWII. Walk past historic buildings, like the Semper Gallery of Old Masters paintings, the Albertinum Gallery of New Masters, the Green Vault with treasures from the 16th, 17th and 18th century and the Zwinger complex, housing one of the largest porcelain collections. Also see the Semper Opera House and the Church of the Cross, home of Dresden's famous boy's choir. After some free time, continue your tour into the Czech Republic. Your destination today is its’ capital, Prague. (B, D)

Day 7 – Tuesday, March 17, 2009 Prague
Morning sightseeing tour of the old town, featuring Wenceslaus Square, the center of the city, lying between old and modern Prague.  Visit Hradcany Castle and St. Vitus Cathedral, with a Gothic beauty that rivals Notre Dame.  Building started in 1344 and was completed in 1929.  Also see Strahov Monastery with its remarkable astronomical clock, the lovely bridges over the gentle Vltava River, and Charles University, the oldest in central Europe.  Afternoon at leisure. You might want to shop for the famous Bohemian crystal. (B)

Day 8 – Wednesday, March 18, 2009 Prague - Munich
Today, we return to Germany. Your destination is Munich, capital of Bavaria and famous for its beer and “Gemutlichkeit”. (B, D)

Day 9 – Thursday, March 19, 2009 Munich
This morning city sightseeing of Munich with a local guide.  Your first stop will be Nymphenburg Palace, the former summer residence of the Royal Bavarian Family.  Then go onto the Olympic Complex, site of the 1972 summer Olympics.  Pass the BMW administration building with its carburetor shaped museum.  See all the other famous landmarks of Munich like the Student District of Schwabing, Maximilianstrasse, Koenigsplatz and the Marienplatz.  Your tour will end with viewing the "Glockenspiel."  Balance of the day is free to explore the city or enjoy the arts by visiting the old Pinakothek, one of the finest galleries in Europe with paintings from Raphael, Rubens, Leonardo da Vinci and Van Dyck. Ypu could also visit the Deutsche Museum founded 1925 devoted to science and technical subjects. Stroll along the pedestrian area and shop in one of the boutiques, or visit the Viktualienmarkt, an open air food market.  Tonight’s farewell dinner will be served at a local restaurant. (B, D)

Day 10 – Friday, March 20, 2009 Munich - USA
Today it is time to say “Auf Wiedersehen” when you board your motor coach to the airport for your return flight to the U.S.
