Set beneath the 9,270 foot Rocher de Bellevard and bordered by the Vanoise and Grand Paradise National Parks, Val d'Isere's spectacular natural setting is complemented by a small resort core and numerous vestiges of the past millennium.

There are 186 miles of marked runs for all levels of skiers from the gentle Pissaillas glacier to the top of Bellevard - starting point for the men's Olympic downhill, plus untracked powder in vast north-facing bowls to sunlit pistes that snake from ridge to valley. AND, as the sun sets, the village's apres-ski abounds.
