Sample Itinerary

Music Tour of Hungary, Austria, Germany, and Switzerland

Day 1 - USA – Budapest

Depart the U.S. to Budapest, the capital of Hungary.

Day 2 – Budapest

After arrival meet your tour escort. He/She will guide you to your waiting motor coach. Drive to your hotel and check in. This afternoon a local guide will take you for a good overview of the city's 2,000 year history. The balance of the day is free to explore Budapest on your own. Dinner at your hotel. (D)

Day 3 – Budapest

This morning the first choir performance is scheduled during a mass in Budapest. Early afternoon board a Danube river boat cruise and enjoy the sights of Budapest. Tonights dinner will be served at one of the local restaurants while folklore dancers and fiery gipsy musicians entertain you. (B,D)

Day 4 – Budapest - Vienna

Depart Budapest and drive along the Autobahn west into Austria. Your destination today is the capital of Austria, Vienna. Tonight enjoy a concert of the Vienna Johann Strauss orchestra performing the best known compositions of the “Waltz King.” (B)

Day 5- Vienna

Morning sightseeing tour of Vienna. Drive to the Ring Boulevard, created 1857. Here you will find all the historic buildings. For the afternoon your 2nd performance is scheduled in front of Schoenbrunn Palace, the former summer residence of the Habsburg Dynasty for better than 200 years. Tonights dinner is reserved in an informal atmosphere in the Vienna wine suburb of Grinzing. (B,D)

Day 6 - Vienna - Salzburg

A beautiful drive along the Danube River brings you to Melk. A local guide will show you the highlights of this town on a walking tour. (B)

Day 7 – Salzburg

The morning free to explore Salzburg on your own. For the afternoon your 3rd performance is scheduled at Mirabell Gardens. (B)

Day 8 - Salzburg – Kitzbuhel

Departure through beautiful mountain scenery to the Austrian resort of Kitzbuhel. Balance of the day on your own. (B)

Day 9- Kitzbuhel – Munich

Past Innsbruck back into Germany. First stop today is the Passion Play village of Oberammergau. Enjoy the picturesque scenery of this famous Bavarian village famous for its woodcarvings. A 90 minute drive and you will reach Munich, the capital of Bavaria. Dinner tonight is reserved at the world famous Hofbrauhaus. Enjoy dinner while the Bavarian Brass band is entertaining you with typical Bavarian songs. (B,D)

Day 10 - Munich

Morning city sightseeing of Munich. Your tour will end with viewing the "Glockenspiel." Balance of the day free to explore the city on your own. (B)

Day 11 - Munich – Lucerne

Through the “dairy land” of Germany to Lake Constance. Weather permitting you can view the Alps of 3 countries, Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Cross the border into Switzerland and drive to Lucerne. (B)

Day 12 - Lucerne

Morning walking tour with a local guide. Balance of day at leisure. You might want to take a cable car up to Mt. Pilatus. Tonight enjoy your farewell dinner and a original Swiss folklore show. (B,D)

Day 13 - Lucerne

Today it is time to say “Auf Wiedersehen” when you board your motor coach for your transfer to Zurich airport for your return flight to the U.S. (B)
